Day Three of the 2024 NFL Draft is underway and Texas Longhorns tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders became the first pick of the fourth round when the Carolina Panthers selected him with No. 101 overall.

Sanders is the first Texas tight end picked since Geoff Swaim was drafted in the seventh round in 2014 and the earliest selection at the position for the Longhorns since Jermichael Finley as a third-round pick in 2008.
The sure-handed tight end is the sixth Longhorn picked in this year’s draft, the most for Texas since the 2010 draft in the aftermath of the program’s last appearance in the national championship.
